From Honda Amaze To Tata Altroz: Here Are 17 Top Cars & SUVs That Will Be Discontinued In India From April 2023

Many topcars and SUVswill be discontinued from April 2023 onward asReal Driving Emissions (RDE) normsare implemented. The Real Driving Emissions (RDE) system will measure pollutants such as nitrogen oxides emitted from a car. NewRDE standards suggest that vehicles have onboard self-diagnostics that monitor real-time emissions levels while driving. In order to meet the requirements, the device will take care of important parts, such as catalytic converters and oxygen sensors. In addition, cars and SUVs must have programmed fuel injectors to control the amount of fuel injected. Here is the list of 17 cars that will be discontinued in April 2023 due to the new RDE rules.




The fourth generation Honda City, which debuted in 2014, is powered by a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine and comes in two trim levels: SV and V, which will be phased out on April 1, 2023.




Launched in 2020, the 5th Gen Honda City is powered by a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine that churns out 121 PS of power at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a CVT option. This other popular Honda car will be discontinued on April 1, 2023.




Powered by a 1.5 litres i-DTEC engine, the Honda Amaze Diesel is available in 4 diesel variants, out of which 1 is automatic and 3 is manual. It is also on the list of discontinued cars.




The Honda Jazz is the fourth Honda product to be phased out in April 2023, powered by a 1.2-litres i-VTEC petrol engine producing 90 ps at 6 000 rpm.




The Honda WR-V is a fifth product from Honda that will be discontinued on April 1, 2023.The WR-V is powered by a 1.5 -litres i-DTEC diesel and a 1.2 -litres i-VTEC Petrol engine with 6- and 5-speed manual gearboxes.




The 1.5-litre diesel engine in the Mahindra Marazzo, one of the safest MPV vehicles in India, produces 120.96 bhp at 3500 rpm and 300 Nm of torque at 1750–2500 rpm. The 8-seater MPV vehicle is going to be discontinued on April 1, 2023.




The Alturas G4 is a 7-seater car powered by a 2.2-litre turbodiesel engine that produces 181 bhp at 4000 rpm. Another Mahindra model will be discontinued in April 2023.




The 6-seater micro SUV Mahindra KUV100 is powered by an 1198 cc mFALCON G80 engine that generates 82 PS @ 5500 rpm and 115 Nm @ 3500–3600 rpm torque. This is the third model from Mahindra that is going to be discontinued on April 1.




A 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel engine produces 98 bhp at 4000 rpm and 240 Nm of torque at 1500–2500 rpm in a 5-seater premium hatchback. The Hyundai i20 diesel model will be discontinued on April 1, 2023.




Hyundai Verna is a sporty sedan equipped with AVN, Airbag, and a powerful 1.5-litre engine producing 113 horsepower and 250 Newton-meters of torque.This is the second Hyundai diesel model that will be discontinued in April 2023.




Powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with a 7-speed DSG, the Skoda Octavia will be among the vehicles that will be discontinued in April 2023.




The Superb is powered by a 2.0-litre engine, and another premium sedan from Skoda is going to be discontinued too.




The 5-seater Hatchback is powered by a 4-cylinder, 1.5-litre turbocharged Revotorq engine that generates 90 bhp and 200 Nm of torque. This is the only Tata product mentioned in the list that will be discontinued in April 2023.




The Renault Kwid is available with a 799 cc engine that produces 53 bhp and 73 Nm of torque with one fuel type option. Kwid is also going to be discontinued in April.




The Nissan Kicks is a 5-seater SUV powered by a 1.3L turbocharged engine that generates 154 bhp and 254 Nm of torque. Nissan will discontinue the model on April 1, 2023.




India's best-selling and favourite car, the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800, will be discontinued too. The 0.8-litre engine in the 4-seater hatchback produces 40 bhp and 60 NM of torque.




Innova Crysta is powered by a 2.7-litre petrol engine that produces 164 bps and 245 Nm, but it has already been discontinued from Toyota's website.
