Mahatma Gandhi’s Martyrdom Day: CM Yogi Adityanath Lights Lamps, Spreads Message of Peace and Harmony

On Mahatma Gandhi’s martyrdom day, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid tribute at Shaheed Smarak, Lucknow, through lamp-lighting and devotional hymns. The ceremony conveyed messages of peace, harmony, and collective remembrance of Gandhian ideals and freedom fighters’ sacrifices.
On the occasion of the martyrdom day of Mahatma Gandhi, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath participated in a commemorative lamp-lighting and devotional music programme at Shaheed Smarak in Lucknow. The event was marked by reverence, reflection, and a renewed commitment to the values upheld by the Father of the Nation.
The Chief Minister began the ceremony by offering floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi’s portrait, paying heartfelt respects to his life of sacrifice, truth, and non-violence. He also remembered the countless freedom fighters who laid down their lives for India’s independence.
Actively joining the bhajan sandhya, CM Yogi Adityanath participated in the singing of Gandhi’s beloved devotional hymn “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram”. His presence symbolized deep respect for Gandhi’s spiritual beliefs and moral philosophy.
After the devotional programme, the Chief Minister proceeded to the Gomti riverbank near Shaheed Smarak, where he lit lamps in memory of Mahatma Gandhi and the martyrs of the freedom movement. The act of lamp-lighting symbolized peace, hope, and positive energy for society.
Through the ceremonial deepdaan, the Chief Minister conveyed a powerful message of peace, mutual harmony, and national unity. The event emphasized the relevance of Gandhian ideals in addressing contemporary social challenges.
Several distinguished guests attended the programme, including MSME, Khadi and Village Industries Minister Rakesh Sachan and Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharkwal. Their presence highlighted the collective respect for Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy across different sections of leadership.The observance served as a reminder that Mahatma Gandhi’s principles of truth, non-violence, and compassion continue to guide the nation.
