UP idustry leaders meet CM Yogi Adityanath, seek land reforms, MSME boost and easier business rules ahead of budget 2026-27

Industry bodies met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow to share suggestions for Budget 2026–27. Key demands included land allotment in the Defence Corridor, freehold industrial land, simpler laws, MSME support, IT infrastructure, skill development and regular dialogue to improve Ease of Doing Business in the state.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a special meeting with industry organizations and entrepreneurs to gather suggestions for the state Budget 2026-27. Senior government officials, including Additional Chief Secretaries and Principal Secretaries, were present during the discussion. The Chief Minister urged industry leaders to share practical ideas to further improve Ease of Doing Business in the state.

Demand for land allotment in defence corridor

CII Vice Chairman Abhishek Saraf stressed the need for quick land allotment in the Lucknow node of the Defence Corridor. He said faster decisions would help speed up industrial development and attract more investment in the region.

Call to make industrial land freehold

FICCI Chairman Manoj Gupta proposed converting industrial land to freehold status. According to him, this step would boost investor confidence and encourage long-term investments across Uttar Pradesh.

Industry welcomes decriminalization of laws

A representative from India Pesticides Limited thanked the state government for decriminalizing several industrial laws. The move was described as a major and positive reform that reduces fear of legal action and improves the business environment.

Simpler compliance for companies

ASSOCHAM Co-Chairman Hassan Yaqub suggested a new system - "One Company, One Register, One Letter" - to make compliance easier for businesses.

He also pointed out that Uttar Pradesh's One District One Product (ODOP) model has inspired similar programs in countries like the Philippines showing its global impact. ASSOCHAM Uttar Pradesh also shared plans focused on youth job placements.

Focus on skills, IT and financial markets

Industry representatives discussed the need to strengthen ITI institutions, promote research and innovation and develop equity markets. They said these steps are important for building a strong future industrial economy.

Industry bodies called for an OTS (One Time Settlement) scheme for pollution-related cases, and regular interaction between MSMEs and national export councils. They believe this will help boost exports and support small businesses across the state.

Plug-and-play IT facilities for startups

NASSCOM Lucknow Chapter Chairman Ramesh Jaidi highlighted the need for ready-to-use office spaces for small IT firms. He said such plug-and-play facilities would help startups and tech companies grow faster. CRED AI UP President Shobhit Mohan Das suggested holding 'Awas Bandhu' meetings regularly similar to Udyog Bandhu, to solve issues faced by the real estate sector.

Push for inclusive entrepreneurship

While interacting with the Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, State President Manish Verma, CM Yogi Adityanath emphasized inclusive growth. He said each district should aim to prepare at least 10 young entrepreneurs from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, helping expand opportunities and industrial development across communities.
