The app's limited beta was launched in April, and now it's available to all iOS users. To scan an object from the app, the user needs to take a few photos from it from all angles.

RealityScan also shows all pictures taken in augmented reality (AR) along with a heat map of areas that need better coverage from the user's end. Once you get the model right, it's exported to Sketchfab, a platform to share 3D models. Then, it all falls into place.
An Android version is in the works for 2023, the Verge reported. Epic is building various tools to create 3D objects, including Epic's MetaHuman technology.
Epic Games is also building most of its upcoming offerings on Unreal Engine, which the company calls "the world's most open and advanced real-time 3D creation tool for photoreal visuals and immersive experiences."
