As private family matters gain more attention in the media, people who were not previously in the public eye can suddenly find themselves in the spotlight. This appears to be the case with Preston Bailey, a wedding planner who briefly worked with Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz before their 2022 wedding.
With increased public interest in the Beckham family, sparked by Brooklyn's recent comments about his parents, Bailey has shared his own experiences - not to settle the disagreement, but to describe the version of Brooklyn he met while working with the couple.
Bailey is a seasoned wedding planner who has worked with many high-profile clients, including politicians and celebrities.
He was hired by Brooklyn and Nicola in April 2021 to help with the planning of their wedding. His involvement with the couple ended several months later due to other commitments, but during that time, he was actively involved in the early stages of planning and designing the event.
When asked about Brooklyn's choice to publicly distance himself from his parents, Bailey expressed surprise. He said, "It surprises me that he is taking this stand against his parents. That's not the Brooklyn I met. As far as him being a nice, gentle guy, he was just a regular person who would say hello and chat," according to Page Six.
During the planning phase, Bailey described Brooklyn as being engaged and present, especially when it came to creative decisions.
"I can tell you about my experience with Brooklyn," he said. "While we were planning, clearly as far as the details for the design, he was very much involved."
Looking back on their working relationship, Bailey added: "I have always thought of him as a gentle, decent guy. There was never any tension."
He said he "doesn't remember her being bossy," and instead recalled "a lot of affection" between the couple as they prepared for their wedding.
"Whatever design was done was presented to Nicola, but it was important for her to have Brooklyn approve it," Bailey explained.
"She wasn't going to do anything without his approval."
The renewed interest in the wedding comes after Brooklyn Beckham recently posted on social media about ongoing family tensions.
He wrote: "Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed."
This statement has brought more attention to the couple's April 2022 wedding, which has already been the subject of conflicting accounts.
DJ Fat Tony, who performed at the event, previously claimed Nicola "left the room crying her eyes out" after what he described as an "inappropriate" mother-son dance.
